As part of the CIBC Rewards program, you can add other CIBC Aventura® cards to your profile if you are the primary cardholder for both cards. Once you sign on to your account at cibcrewards.com, click on “Profile” and go to the “Cards” tab. Follow the simple step-by-step instructions to add your card to your profile.

Yes, you can change your default card in your CIBC Rewards profile. Please enter the CIBC Rewards site by clicking ‘Go to CIBC Rewards’ from CIBC Online Banking® or CIBC Mobile Banking® App. You can access your CIBC Rewards profile page by clicking on My profile at the top of the web page, and you can change your default card by going to the ‘Manage Cards’ section.


When you sign on to CIBC Rewards through the link in CIBC Online Banking or CIBC Mobile Banking® App, your profile will default to one of your credit cards. To see your other cards, once on the CIBC Rewards website click on the down arrow next to your current card’s points balance at the top of the web page and select another card.

Points Deficit is an option for cardholders whose CIBC Aventura Credit Card qualifies for the Aventura® Airlines Reward Chart and who do not have enough Aventura® Points to redeem for a flight through the Aventura® Airline Rewards Chart. If you don’t have enough Aventura Points to purchase an Airline Travel Reward in full (but have at least 80% of the required number of Aventura Points), you may ask the Centre to charge an amount to your Card to cover the Points Deficit. If you have the Centre charge an amount to your Card to cover the Points Deficit for an Airline Travel Reward and you are advised that the Aventura Travel Reward is refundable, then, in the event of a refund, the amount previously charged to your Card will not be refunded to your Credit Card Account and instead you will receive Aventura Points equal to the Points Deficit.7


Flexible Travel provides CIBC Aventura® cardholders with the ability to pay for flights, hotels and car rentals with any combination of:

  1. Aventura® Points;
  2. Aventura® Points and your CIBC Aventura® Credit Card; or
  3. Just your CIBC Aventura® Credit Card.

Don’t forget you will earn double Aventura® Points on travel purchased through the CIBC Rewards Centre using your CIBC Aventura® Credit Card.5


Items are subject to availability and you will be notified of any change in merchandise status in your account’s “Order History”. Please allow up to 5 weeks for delivery of merchandise. Merchandise cannot be delivered outside Canada, or to a P.O. Box or Rural Route. CIBC assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by defective merchandise.


You can order from the catalogue on the website, but items can only be shipped to addresses within Canada (excluding P.O. Boxes and Rural Routes).


You have 30 days from the receipt of the item (10 days for jewellery items) to request a return. Contact the CIBC Rewards Centre at 1-888-232-5656 (in Canada & U.S.) or 905-696-4907 (elsewhere) for return instructions prior to returning the item. Once your return has been authorized, you will have fifteen (15) business days to return the item for it to be accepted. Please note that the following items cannot be returned: earrings, clothing, bedding, linens, towels, electronics, opened games. Gift cards or certificates and lifestyle rewards may not be returned. There are no returns on clearance items or as noted on any item description.


If a merchandise item arrives damaged or there are missing pieces, please notify the CIBC Rewards Centre immediately. We will be happy to replace the item without charge, if it is reported within five (5) business days of receipt, the item(s) are returned in their original manufacturer’s packaging and are accompanied by the original packing slip. Defects identified after initial use will not be accepted for return and should be handled according to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty. NEXUS charges an application fee, CIBC will rebate the application fee of up to CAD $100 in one statement credit every 4 years on the primary cardholder’s account.8

Charge the full cost of your accommodations to your eligible Aventura card to receive up to $2,500 of coverage for damage to or loss of personal items (excluding cash) due to burglary in your room while you are a registered guest.


Digital Gift Cards

To make a redemption for a Digital Gift Card item:

  1. Click on the Gift cards menu option on the Home page.
  2. Browse the Digital Gift Card catalogue to find the items you want.
  3. Select the gift card denomination and add the item(s) into your Shopping Cart.
  4. Follow the checkout instructions to complete your order.

Depending on your email provider and security settings, some emails may end up in your Spam or Junk folder. If so, please save the address to your safe senders list for future orders.

You may resend the Digital Gift Card from CIBC Rewards. Simply sign on and click on Account History then select the order and click the resend button next to the gift card. You can also review and update the email address.

If you still haven’t received your digital gift card, please contact the CIBC Rewards Centre at 1-888-232-5656 (in Canada & U.S.) or 905-696-4907 (elsewhere).


When you place an order for more than one Digital Gift Card or for multiple retailers, you can expect to receive one confirmation email which will list all the reward items you have ordered. You will also receive one email for each Digital Gift Card in your order.

For example, if you order a total of 10 Digital Gift Cards, you will receive 10 separate emails, one for each Digital Gift Card ordered. A link will be provided in the email allowing you to access your Digital Gift Card and providing you with a barcode and/or a PIN and instructions on how to use.


Once your order is placed and confirmed, Digital Gift Cards cannot be cancelled, refunded or exchanged.


Digital Gift Cards ordered from CIBC Rewards are in Canadian currency only. In most cases, gift cards are limited to use within the country it was issued, and any exceptions are dependent on the company or retailer at the time of use.

Please check with the retailer prior to placing the order as Digital Gift Cards are non-refundable.

At times, the price of merchandise will fluctuate as it is controlled by Amazon.ca . If you’ve placed an item in your shopping cart, then waited to redeem, you may notice a change in the item’s price. CIBC Rewards does its best to ensure the prices on the website are correct and may need to change the cost, either up or down as necessary.


Unfortunately, you cannot complete the redemption if the points required exceed the balance of CIBC Rewards Points in your account. Either remove some items from your cart, select alternative rewards at a lower points balance, or keep earning points towards your must-have rewards.

You can redeem Aventura points for pending transactions above $25 but only if the link to redeem with points is active on specific transactions.


Once a transaction is posted, you are no longer able to redeem your points for the transaction. You can, however, pay with Aventura points towards balances.


Transactions can take up to five days to reflect on your statement.


Redeeming with Aventura points allows you to use points towards a single pending transaction. Paying with Aventura points allows you to use points towards your balance.


The conversion rate of Aventura points varies, depending on transaction type. To view the exact amount of points needed to redeem for a specific amount, expand your transaction details for more information.


Yes, however, only primary cardholders can redeem Aventura points for transactions completed by an authorized user. Authorized users cannot redeem Aventura points.


You can redeem your Aventura points any time you have enough points for the minimum amount required and your card is in good standing. For example, you can start redeeming as soon as you’ve received bonus points with your new card, but only on pending transactions.


No. Only primary cardholders can redeem Aventura points for pending transactions, including transactions completed by a secondary cardholder or authorized user.


No. Once you have redeemed your Aventura points for a transaction, the points are not refundable, exchangeable or transferable.


No. The merchant will apply credit to your account. Once the Aventura points have been redeemed, they cannot be refunded.


No. Foreign currency transactions are not eligible. You can only redeem points for transactions in the currency of your credit card. For example, if your credit card’s currency is in US dollars, you can only redeem Aventura points on US dollar purchases.

Single Sign on

CIBC cardholders with eligible products access their CIBC Rewards account directly from their CIBC Online Banking® and CIBC Mobile Banking® account. When signed in to CIBC Online Banking®or CIBC Mobile Banking®, click on "Go to CIBC Rewards" and you will be directed and logged in to the CIBC Rewards website.


Transferring Aventura Points

CIBC Rewards Program clients may "transfer," which means move, the Aventura points earned from eligible Aventura credit card accounts, on which clients are the primary cardholder/Rewards Officer.


If you are a primary cardholder/Rewards Officer on at least one CIBC Aventura for Business credit card or US Dollar Aventura Gold credit card or Aventura Visa Infinite Privilege credit card and one personal CIBC Aventura credit card, you can access the Points Pooling functionality by clicking on My profile at the top of the web page after you sign on to your CIBC Rewards account. Select the Points Pooling button and follow the instructions on the Transfer Points Between Accounts page to transfer your points. Visa Airport Companion Program

No, there is no physical membership card that will be issued for the Visa Airport Companion Program. Once you enroll for the program, you can access any participating lounge9 immediately by using one of three access mechanisms (subject to availability):

  1. Present the eligible CIBC Visa Card you used to enroll in the Program;
  2. Show your digital membership card and QR Code within the Program App or Website; or
  3. Present your printed or emailed e-Certificate containing the digital membership card and QR Code.

Enrolling for the Program is quick and can be completed within a few minutes, giving you access to the Program immediately.

Simply download the Visa Airport Companion App (available to download for free) or visit the Program Website (visaairportcompanion.ca) Opens in a new tabto enroll for the Program. To complete your enrollment, you will be required to enter your eligible CIBC Visa Card details and your First and Last Name as it appears on your passport or valid travel document.

No, there is no physical membership card that will be issued for the Mastercard Travel Pass program.

Once you enroll for the program, you can access any participating lounge9 immediately by using one of the two access mechanisms:

  1. Show your digital membership card and QR Code within the Program App or Website; or
  2. Present your printed or emailed e-Certificate containing the digital membership card and QR Code.
